A drama dealing with superstition and witchcraft in Ayrshire in the early-18th century. Nannie, unknown to her Granny, succeeds in spying on the
midsummer revels of the local witch's coven. When she is discovered, she reveals that she knows all their names, and tries to blackmail them into allowing her to attend the next Witches' Sabbath. Tragedy follows, as she is killed and Granny is made out to be the witch.
