Scottish Play: No. 104
Mrs. Dunlop and Susan Hunter describe themselves as 'Church Workers'.
When funds are needed for any good cause, they are the recognised collectors. This job suits them. It gives them entry into many houses and enables them not only to collect money, but all the gossip of the day. Sometimes the gossip may be harmless but at times it amounts to slander and causes annoyance and hurt to innocent people.
The two are inveterate gossips -- putting two and two together and making five or even six. In spite of this background, the play is comedy and there is a laugh in every line.
