Archie McDonald has been a competitive chrysanthemum grower in the village of Glenshoogle for years. Recently his archrival has consistently beaten him into second place. It is the day before the annual flower show and Archie is prepared to resort to drastic measures. Jean, his wife, has only one wish; to impress the ladies of the local Women's Guild with her hospitality. She herself has no culinary talent and soon regrets passing off some of the local baker's scones as her own home baking. The two scenarios become hilariously inter-twined.
