Scottish Play: No. 18
The scene is the annual Business Meeting of the church Women's Guild.
Mrs. Allen, the president, is determined that it will be a success. . . . Men say that women cannot run a business meeting - they talk too much. Mrs. Allen is determined to prove that they are wrong. This meeting will be a model of business procedure - no talking - everything going like clockwork.
Alas, Mrs. Allen's dreams come to naught and the meeting becomes more of a farce than anything else with the women ready to laugh and giggle at anything. They enjoy the fun, but poor Mrs. Allen is forced in the end to admit defeat.
The play is full of laughter. Every character is well worth playing and gives good scope for acting.
