After years of feuding, a peace treaty between Sir Archibald Brodie, a Border Laird, and his English neighbour, Sir Henry Milburn, seems a forlorn hope, but Brodie's wife, Lady Kate, is not easily thwarted. Her attempts to manipulate a treaty provide forty minutes of broad comedy. Set against the background of the borders at the turn of the 16th century, this play was awarded the Scott Salver for the best original play entered in the 1977 S.C.D.A. One-Act Festival.
