Item details

The play centres around two families of adjoining estates on the Isle of Jura.

To combat the general downturn in revenue the families look for ways to diversify. The Bugg family, with their ethical daughter Lucinda, decide to harvest midgies and turn them into burgers. Their neighbours, the Herds, get wind of this and decide to harvest midgies as well and distil a spirit from them.

Stuart Herd and Lucinda are an item, so they know what’s going on in each household but both households want to keep their projects secret. The Herd’s slightly hard of hearing housekeeper, Lena, is suspicious of the goings on and concludes it is a cannabis farm. She confides in Connie, the Bugg’s housekeeper, and due to the Stuart/ Lucinda connection they assume both families are in on it, and the housekeepers join forces to disrupt production with hilarious consequences.
