Aundra Carmichael, the bone-setter, is storm-steaded at Windyblast Castle. He is greatly impressed with a large portrait of Sir Donald, who was Laird of the Castle more than a hundred years previously. Aundra exercises his skill on the butler and the housekeeper with excellent results. Then, under the influence of some glasses of whisky, he sees Sir Donald come to life, step from the picture frame, and demand to be cured of a lame leg. Alas, Aundra's efforts this time end in disaster and instead of curing the lame leg, he pulls it right off.
