THE SPAEWIFE Comedy A young man obsessed with the love of poaching rabbits much against the wishes of his mother and the lassie who is fond of him, arouses the suspicions of the new gamekeeper and the constable who decide to visit the cottage after one of the poacher's "expeditions''. Thanks to the warning from Tinker Maggie (a fine character study) the rabbits are cleverly hidden. Baffled, they leave and the poacher brings the rabbits from their hiding place, but, unfortunately the gamekeeper and constable return. A well constructed play with comedy and drama intermingled.
