Item details

November, 1706. The Lord Provost of Glasgow considers his son much too good for an impoverished orphan girl living with her aunts. But when the Glasgow mob starts to riot and demonstrate against the proposed Act of Union, the aunts drive a hard bargain. The Old Grammarians, in this comedy, were runners-up and were awarded the Glen Mackemmie Trophy at the S.C.D.A. Scottish Final in 1963. It has appeared in the Northern and Western Divisional Finals, and was broadcast by the B.B.C. in April, 1963.
