John Dunlop, a ploughman, has named his pig " William the Conqueror'', Willie for short. This leads to a colourful comedy of errors. " Whistling Willie'', a pedlar, comes along, reveals that he has on his person a sum of ?20. Later, while he is having forty winks, he overhears a conversation between John and a neighbouring ploughman, who has come to kill the pig. The pedlar thinks he is going to be murdered for his money. After trying force and then bribery, he discovers that the intended victim is the pig, " William the Conqueror''. This comedy is abundant in humour.
